General Information

Safa is a bioengineer who graduated from Polytech Clermont-Ferrand (France). With a great passion for medical research and particularly cancer research, she pursued her studies at the medical and pharmaceutical university Rockefeller in Lyon (France) where she obtained a research master’s degree in oncology.  
Currently, within the THERADNET network, Safa is carrying out her research project at the Institute of Cell Biology (tumor research) in Essen. The main focus of her research project is targeting metabolic cancer cell plasticity to overcome escape from radiotherapy.
Safa is also a member of different scientific societies including Radiation Research Society (RADRES)- SIT and European Association for Cancer Research (EACR) in which Safa is an ambassador. She was also selected for the Erasmus Mundus scholarship in 2015.
