João received his BSc in chemistry from the University of Porto, Portugal in July 2018. He then moved to Imperial College London (UK) for an MRes in drug discovery and development under the supervision of Professor Alan Armstrong and Dr. David Mann. After his graduation, João received an offer from Bial, the biggest Portuguese pharmaceutical company, as a medicinal chemist intern. After seven months, he started his DPhil in Oncology at the University of Oxford. For his thesis, João is focused on the study of KRas and its protein-protein interactions. At this level, he is trying to develop a direct inhibitor through the internalization of radioimmunoconjugates for simultaneous radio-ligand therapy and radiosensitization.
