All ESRs received training in pitching themselves and their projects to specific audience, in this case the general public. During the course, several technical aspects and complementary communication approaches were used to finalize short video pitches in which each ESR briefly describes the main focus of their work.
Overall, the workshop was very successful in that ESRs gained knowledge on many new aspects regarding correct video recordings for scientific purposes, adapting ones speech and language to meet the general public’s understanding and coping with nervousness and confidence all in a hands-on informal environment.
